Announcing At Home Mystery Show and Tell

The Spring 2020 At Home Mystery Show and Tell will be Monday, June 1, 2020 at 7:00 PM. The Show and Tell is open to all participants of the Spring 2020 At Home Mystery.

Ways to Participate

The Show and Tell will be held on zoom. We know not everyone is comfortable with technology, so here are some things to know:

1. Zoom is safe. All participants will be sent an email invitation with a link to the zoom meeting and a password.
2. Zoom is easy, You don't have download the app. You can open the link in a web browser such as Chrome, Explorer or Safari.
3. We plan to offer practice small group zoom meetings over the next few weeks for whover would like to try it out.
4. You have the option to just observe the Show and Tell and not be visible on the screen.
5. If you cannot attend, or prefer not to go on zoom, you can send us a photo of your quilt top ahead of time and we will show it off at the Show and Tell.
6. The Show and Tell will be recorded, so you will be able to watch it later.

How to Sign-up

Since we need to invite you, we need you sign up. Click on Contact Us Make sure to include your name and email. For the Subject, put Show and Tell. For the Message, please indicate if you would like a practice zoom or if you intend to email in a photo.

Please sign up by Wednesday May 27th. If you want to try the practice zoom, let us know sooner so there is time to schedule some practice zooms.

Spring 2020 At Home Mystery Quilt

Due to the unprecedented situation we find ourselves in, we have had to cancel the entire spring season. We want to make some lemonade from the lemons taking away the season. The spring 2020 mystery quilt is a lot of fun to make! We have put a lot of time into planning, designing and sewing to get ready for the season. So we are going to try something new for us that will be fun for all as we make this lemonade. We are going to do this mystery online!

How will this work?

1. Register for the At Home Mystery see below for registration information.
2. Gather your fabrics and get started cutting. Click Materials to download your fabric and cutting pages. Also, see below for more information on where to get fabric if it is not in your stash already.
3. Each Monday you will receive a batch of Clues in your email inbox. You will have one week to sew those clues. Don't worry if you fall behind, as usual this is not a contest! See the schedule below for the dates the Clues will be sent out.
4. As usual, you can Contact Us, if you have questions as you go.
5. We also have put up a private Facebook Page. This will allow us to interact as we go along sewing the Spring 2020 Mystery Quilt! You can ask questions, show pictures and make some comments. Click on this link. You can request to be a member and we will include you.

The Cost of the Spring 2020 At Home Mystery is $50.00. You can register online or by mail.

Where to Buy Fabric During This Time At Home

If you already have your fabrics, that great! If not we have enlisted the help of our local quilt shop owner here in Central New Jersey where we live. Her name is Claire and the shop is Mouse Creek Quilts. She has been brought up to speed with the quilt pattern and is willing to help you choose fabric and mail it to you. She said if you have some of the fabric from your stash to use, you can send her a picture so she can help you coordinate. If you want to purchase all your fabric she is ready, willing and able to help. Of course, you can still buy fabric online, but we thought the personal touch might help those that do not like buying fabric online.

We are also opening up a new Facebook page, M&J's Quiltaways Spring 2020 At Home Mystery where we can share photos as we go along. We will also do some Live Facebook events to answer questions and demonstrate skills. Since it's a private group, you go to the Facebook group and request to join, then we will approve you ASAP.
